From anniversary editions to artistic collaborations, 2025’s most coveted limited-edition watches embody the height of exclusivity and collector appeal in the world of haute horlogerie.
In the rarefied world of luxury watchmaking, scarcity remains the ultimate currency. This year, leading Maisons have unveiled a new generation of ultra-limited timepieces — each a showcase of heritage, artistry and technical prowess. From Hublot’s fluid collaboration with contemporary artist Daniel Arsham to Vacheron Constantin’s record-breaking Solaria Ultra Grand Complication, these releases go above and beyond timekeeping to express the amalgamation of exclusivity and creative ambition. Produced in quantities as few as one to under a hundred pieces, they each stand as symbols of excellence for collectors who understand that in watchmaking, rarity is value realised through design and legacy. From avant-garde collaborations to feats of mechanical artistry, LUXUO explores the rarest and most remarkable watches of the year (so far).
Hublot X Daniel Arsham MP-17 Arsham Splash
The Hublot MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire marks the first wristwatch collaboration between Hublot and contemporary artist Daniel Arsham. Featuring a frosted sapphire bezel, housed in a titanium case of 42mm. The dial aperture took the shape of fluid geometry of water. At first glance, the piece appears to deviate from Hublot’s usual aesthetic. However, a closer look reveals familiar hallmarks — the six H-shaped screws on the bezel and caseback, the signature lugs positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock, and the titanium folding clasp bearing the brand’s emblematic H form. Touches of Arsham green highlight the hour and minute hands, numerals, markers, small seconds display at 9 o’clock and the power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock.
The timepiece is limited to 99 piece and is an ongoing pursuit of innovation for Hublot through its “Art of Fusion” philosophy. Inspired by the fluid geometry of water, the 42mm titanium watch features a frosted sapphire bezel, a splash-shaped dial opening and Arsham’s signature green accents. Powered by Hublot’s new Meca-10 manual-wind movement — visible through the dial and sapphire caseback — the design reflects Arsham’s concept of “fictional archaeology,” blending contemporary art with fine watchmaking.
“Working with Daniel Arsham is a discovery of new design and perception,” says Julien Tornare, CEO of Hublot. He describes the MP-17 Meca-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire as the next exciting chapter in their ongoing collaboration — one that exemplifies Hublot’s “Art of Fusion” by uniting fine watchmaking and contemporary art in a visually striking form that redefines innovation. “This watch invites us to see time in a new light, through Arsham’s unique and fluid vision,” he adds. For Arsham, the collaboration delves into the fluidity of time itself, embodied in a case inspired by the perfect geometry of a water droplet and powered by Hublot’s Meca-10 movement. “The watch’s transparent structure captures the clarity and motion of water — suspended, precise and always in flux,” he says.

Vacheron Constantin’s Solaria Ultra Grand Complication – La Premiere
The Solaria is a singular, one-of-a-kind timepiece which has earned the recognition of being (one of) the most complicated wristwatches in the world. Created to commemorate Vacheron Constantin’s 270th anniversary in 2025. This masterpiece of innovation incorporates an extraordinary 41 complications housed within an 18k white gold case no thicker than 15mm. At its heart lies the Calibre 3655 — a manually wound movement consisting of 1,521 components — making it a true feat of miniaturisation.
This movement integrates five rare astronomical functions, including a world-first celestial object tracker and an innovative Westminster minute repeater — both protected among the 13 patent applications for the watch. Complementing the technical achievement of this watch is its refined aesthetic designed to optimise the legibility of its many functions. The development of this horological masterpiece spanned eight years, establishing a benchmark of achievement for Vacheron Constantin and setting new expectations for future timepieces.
Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon
Limited to 20 timepieces with the number “20” engraved on the time-setting wheel, Bvlgari delivered the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon as a lasting testament to its exclusivity. Unlike standard production models, the Octo Finissimo “Ultra” line is conceived as a platform for record-breaking ultra-thin watchmaking and mechanical engineering. For more than a decade, Bvlgari engineers have worked to align as many components as possible on a single plane, creating a flattened, streamlined architecture.
While Bvlgari may introduce future variations to further advance technical benchmarks, the 1.85mm Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon will remain a singular achievement in the brand’s history. The most streamlined Octo Finissimo yet, this one leans hard into graphics — it does not even look much like a watch. To make the thinnest watch, the goal is always to try bringing everything onto a single plane, as far as possible. That is the long and short of it and it leads to spectacular architecture in movement design. It is not for everyone, but as it is a limited edition of 20, that is a given.
Audemars Piguet’s RD #5
Marking a new era for the Royal Oak, the RD#5 combines Audemars Piguet’s century-old expertise with contemporary ergonomics and technical mastery. Engineered through an intensive research and development process, the timepiece introduces the new Calibre 8100 — a patented movement that reimagines the chronograph mechanism for the first time in 150 years. Housed in the signature “Jumbo” case, the RD#5 delivers exceptional slimness and a fluid, tactile experience through its touch-sensitive push-pieces, inspired by smartphone haptics. Every element has been meticulously refined for modern wearability, balancing intuitive functionality with haute horlogerie precision.
Inspired by vintage chronographs, the entirely in-house movement was built from the ground up to allow the chronograph hands to reset instantly and smoothly with minimal force. The movement is housed within the aforementioned 39mm “Jumbo” case crafted from titanium and palladium-based Bulk Metallic Glass. Visually, the RD#5 retains the classic “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” dial, with sunken chronograph counters for improved legibility and the 150th-anniversary script logo engraved on the caseback to mark the edition.
Montblanc Star Legacy Suspended Exo Tourbillon Château de Versailles
Created to celebrate the grandeur of 18th-century French court life, the Montblanc Star Legacy Suspended Exo Tourbillon Château de Versailles Limited Edition pays homage to the legendary 1745 “Yew Tree Ball” at the Palace of Versailles, where King Louis XV met the future Marquise de Pompadour. Limited to just eight pieces, this Métiers d’Art masterpiece reinterprets the Hall of Mirrors through intricate marquetry of Cacholong opal, Sarrancolin marble and gold enamel — evoking candlelit splendor. The watch’s dial masterfully reinterprets the Hall of Mirrors on that night, drawing inspiration from a 1746 etching by Charles-Nicolas Cochin I. The dial base is crafted from white gold, coated in black enamel and sprinkled with gold that evoke the shimmer of candlelight that would have been reflected in the hall’s 357 mirrors.
Architectural details are recreated in meticulous marquetry, with archways fashioned from Cacholong opal and Sarrancolin marble — the same type of marble sourced for the 17th-century palace itself. At its heart lies Montblanc’s Suspended Exo Tourbillon, a patented construction that appears to hover above the dial — symbolising both technical mastery and artistic poise. Powered by the hand-finished Calibre MB M16.68, the timepiece is presented in a musical box by Elie Bleu and Reuge, which plays a baroque melody composed for the 1745 royal wedding — a poetic nod to the night that inspired its creation.

Based on Jacob & Co.’s Astronomia Solar Baguette movement, the watch combines a multi-axis rotating display with a custom turquoise dial. Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948
Jaeger-LeCoultre reinterprets one of its most technically and artistically complex creations with the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948, now presented in an 18K pink gold case with an exquisite enamel dial. Limited to just 20 pieces, the timepiece unites the precision of world-time display with the brand’s patented Universal Tourbillon, which completes a full rotation every 24 hours — a poetic nod to Earth’s own movement.
Crafted by the Maison’s Métiers Rares atelier, the dial is a study in craftsmanship and depth, combining champlevé enamel for the continents with hand-guilloché and lacquered details to evoke the motion of the sea. The domed world map — elevated above a blue enamelled ocean — exemplifies Jaeger-LeCoultre’s mastery in uniting fine art and engineering. A masterpiece of laser-cutting precision, this complex and delicate domed structure brings lightness and depth to the dial and makes a subtle allusion to the depth and complexity of time measurement. Beneath the dome — representing the oceans — the dial plate is decorated with blue translucent lacquer applied over a wavy hand-guilloché pattern that suggests the movement of the sea.
Powered by the in-house automatic Calibre 948 — comprising 388 components — this edition reflects the Manufacture’s near-century-long expertise in multi-time zone complications. Its refined ergonomics ensure intuitive operation, while the polished pink gold case and blue alligator strap lend the piece an elegant visual balance. A testament to innovation and artistry, the 2025 Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948 embodies Jaeger-LeCoultre’s enduring dialogue between tradition and modernity.
